Adoption as slavery? How can that be?

An adult can take responsibility for a child through various means such as custody or guardianship in which the child retains her original birth certificate with her name and her mother's name on it.

But when an adoption occurs, a falsified document called an "amended" birth certificate is generated. On this falsified document, the child's name is usually changed and the adopter's name shown as the one who gave birth to the child. The date and place of birth may be changed on this falsified document as well - making it difficult for the adopted person, even into adulthood, to find his natural mother, father, siblings and other relatives.

When an adoption occurs, the original birth certificate is sealed. This sealing of the birth certificate is not done upon relinquishment - it is only done if the child is adopted. This timing is significant because the adoption industry insists that the sealing is done in the interests of mothers who were promised "confidentiality". Interestingly, this fabled confidentiality "promise" has not been put into writing on any contract. Sealing of birth certificates is done to protect adopters' interests - it is done to guarantee that they will own the child for life and not have to be concerned she may find her real family. Thus, adoption is ownership of a human being - a form of slavery.

The adoption industry - nor any independent party - has done a scientifically conducted survey to determine whether mothers want contact. However, search angels tell us that about 90% welcome contact immediately and many of the remaining 10% may only need to take some time to adjust to the idea. Sadly, some mothers are so affected by the shaming done to get their babies that they may be too traumatized to accept their own child later.

All parents have a moral responsibility for their child even if that child has been adopted-out. Adopted persons and artificially-created "orphans" must be given the legal right to know who they really are, who their siblings and ancestors are. Are adopted persons assumed to be insensitive jerks? If a mother does turn out to be unwilling to have contact, we must trust that adopted persons have been raised well enough to behave respectfully.

Likewise, mothers, fathers, grandparents and siblings who have lost a child to the adoption industry or having been lured into sperm, egg or embryo "donation" must also have the right to know who their family members are.

 

The status of women in a society may be partially determined by measuring the percentage of women in that society who have their babies adopted-out.
