How They "Find" More Babies for AdoptionIn the United States, there is a large market for babies and small children. When a child really needs someone then it makes sense to find the best situation for the child. But when there are few real orphans to be found that are young and healthy enough to be desirable ("adoptable"), there is a temptation to create "orphans". As Pearl S Buck stated: "Hunger makes a thief of any man." A similar statement could apply to infertility: "Infertility makes a thief out of any woman." The babies of vulnerable or naive (usually Christian) moms are used to supply the market. The following links provide information about the demand for babies and how the United States government assists agencies, lawyers and individual adopters in "finding" desirable American babies for adoption.
"An imbalance between rich and poor is the oldest and most fatal ailment of all republics." - Plato
"The only difference between today's slavery and the slavery
of the old South is that at least the plantation owners paid for
the chains." - Alan Keyes, Presidential Candidate.
