Artwork is powerful stuff and can tell the story of pain, loss, anger,
fustration and many other complex emotions. Many websites are devoted
to adopted children's artwork. What about the artwork, poems, stories
of natural mothers?
Natural mothers also express themselves and obtain some healing by

Adoption healing is a life-long process for mothers and for adoptees.
Our feelings and understanding of our loss change over time. Many
fathers also suffer tremendously from feelings that they have let
their child's mother down and also from the loss of their own son
or daughter. We cannot recover the time apart - but we can start from
today, make sense of our suffering and work toward a brighter future.
November is National Adoption Awareness Month
Adoption Awareness? It's time to stop needless family separations,
time to stop the "intended consequences" of government policies
designed to turn babies and small children into "orphans"
so people can adopt.
